Title: Explosion Study
Note
This was the first canvas I created of the urban explosion series, yet it really seems more of an explosion in some otherworldly remote territory than it does an explosion in an urban area. A former tenant in the property I'm currently living at in Phoenix was throwing the canvas away into the trash. I told her to give it to me instead, I'd turn it into a "masterpiece" and give it back to her. The bright yellow paint was already there, maybe a few hints of fuchsia in the red fire area, the rest is what I worked into something very different from whatever else was there. It took me a few weeks (really only a few hours) to whip this together. The tenant received a pretty bad ass painting, and a lesson in the power of creative imagination.
